 S3435 FAAN Act proves one billion in grants for schools of nursing to hire/retain faculty, modernize infrastructure, and increase enrollment.

 

S131 Providing Real-World Education and Clinical Experience by Precepting Tomorrow’s Nurses (PRECEPT) Act

S131 PRECEPT Act provides a $2,000 tax credit if 200 hours precepted for all levels of nursing students or newly hired nurses (within 6 months of hire) – targeted to Health Professional Shortage Areas.

 

 

S3707 Nurse Faculty Shortage Reduction Act of 2026

S3707 provides for a wage differential program to support new nursing school faculty members. 

 

S575 Improving Care and Access to Nurses (ICAN) act

S575 ICAN Act allows APPs to provide certain services under Medicare and Medicaid.

S.1101 States Handling Access to Reciprocity for Employment (SHARE) Act of 2025

S.1101 SHARE Act of 2025 authorizes state boards of nursing to access FBI criminal records for the purpose of administering multistate licensure.  The intent is to prevent technical delays and streamline the licensing process.

S.1482 National Nursing Workforce Center Act of 2025
  • This bill provides funding for state nursing workforce centers to help rebuild the nursing workforce. More information about this bill is available from the National Forum of State Nursing Workforce Centers.
  • Congress has been urged to allocate a minimum of $210 million to the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR), supporting its mission to solve pressing health challenges and inform practice and policy, thereby optimizing health and advancing health equity into the future.
