NJCCN and the New Jersey Department of Human Services (NJDHS), Division of Aging Services (DOAS) surveyed New Jersey Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs). The information gathered was used to create the New Jersey CNA Data & Analysis Report that can be used to help advocate for CNAs in New Jersey. The CNA Data & Analysis Report highlights the vital role of CNAs in healthcare and details their training, certification, employment, demographics, and challenges they face. You’re invited! The Essential Jobs, Essential Care NJ coalition is hosting a virtual event: Apprenticeship and Grant Programs for Direct Care Workers.
What: A virtual event discussing apprenticeship and grants programs for New Jersey’s direct care workers (i.e., CHHAs, CNAs, DSPs). We’ll have presentations from NJ’s Department of Labor on their programs and the resources they have to help employers apply for them, a panel of direct care employers discussing how they have used these programs, and a presentation on the DSP Career Development Program. There’ll be time for Q&A after each presentation.
Why: To connect direct care employers with apprenticeship and grant funding to attract and retain direct care workers.
